SSC CGL 2020: Staff Selection Commission is responsible for choosing eligible candidates to fill in various posts in different ministries, departments and government organizations via the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination. This selection is subject to the availability of vacancies in said administrative, public offices/ ministries. The examination is held in two tiers namely Tier I and II. Candidates who qualify for the Tier I examination must appear for the Tier II examination to be selected for notified vacancies of posts. The number of posts and vacancies will be notified in the official notification which may be expected in February 2020. SSC CGL 2020-21 Tier I examination may be held during May/June 2020.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject/citizen of Bhutan/Nepal.
  • The candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also apply.

For Junior Statistical Officer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

For Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute will be the essential qualifications.
  • Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics will be the desirable qualifications.

For all other Posts:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Age Criteria

  • The age of the candidate shall not be less than 18 years January 1, 2020.
  • The maximum age should not be more than 32 years of age as of January 1, 2020.
  • For reserved category candidates, age relaxation would be applicable as per the central government rules.

SSC CGL 2020 Application Form

Candidates need to register by entering his/her e-mail ID, phone number and password. Use registration details to log in. Fill in the detailed application form with all the correct details. Upload scanned photograph and signature as per the dimensions mentioned in the JPEG format. The next step after successfully filling and uploading is to pay application fees. The application fee for unreserved male candidates is INR 100 while female and reserved category candidates are exempted from any fee. Candidates are advised to take a print of the filled application form.

Application Fee

  • To complete the registration process, applicants have to pay the application fee.
  • The application fee for General category candidates will be INR 100.
  • There will be no application fee for SC/ST/PH and Female all Category candidates.
  • The fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard or Maestro Credit or Debit card.
  • Application fee once paid will not be refunded in any case.

Selection Process

  • Selection will be done on the basis of written test (CBT) and followed by the Descriptive test, Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Skill Test.
  • The Final merit of selected candidates will be prepared through their performance in all the 4- tiers taken together.

  • First Tier – Computer Based Examination
  • Second Tier – Computer Based Examination
  • Third Tier – Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
  • Forth Tier– Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification

Exam Pattern

  • Tier I will be a written test comprising objective multiple choice type questions (Computer-based test).
  • The duration of the Tier I exam will be 60 Minutes (80 Minutes for disabled candidates).
